VOX: Coin-Operated Boys

Here's 1920's silent film star Mary Pickford playing with her paper dolls, inspired by the Dresden Dolls' song "Coin-Operated Boy". I imagine Rudolph Valentino saying "I'm not gay... I'm European!" Douglas Fairbanks' "thief of Baghdad" pantaloons are all very well, but when it comes to kinky, you just can't beat the Casanova look with the high heels and powdered wig. The waistband coming halfway up Valentino's chest makes him look all the more exposed. I also had Greta Garbo's Flesh and the Devil in mind. Different movie, same situation... Femme fatale toying with two (ambiguously gay?) men and pitting them against each other.
