II: The High Priestess

I am a cult of one: here's another rendition of Treaia, the Jewish witch from my comics series Bishounen Hunters, as the High Priestess. I drew several versions of this tarot card. She wears the broad-brimmed hat and tefillin of an Orthodox man (partly to flout gender restrictions, and partly because they look cool). There's a combination of art influences here, especially Japanese manga and Aubrey Beardsley. The pale silver-blue shading on her gown turned out well. I'm going to send this to Greg while he's training to be a Buddhist monk. Hopefully it'll reach Thailand intact. How much of my artwork is scattered through the mail and across the world?

The Jews around here have a distinctive style of dress. Where do the women get those floor-length skirts with handy pockets? Do they shop at a secret Hillel Mart? I wouldn't mind wearing those myself. Although I habitually wear granny-dresses or long skirts, you can tell I'm not a "real" Jew because my ankles aren't covered up.
